PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT, AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS
Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Souris that a Municipal Election will be held on November 2, 2026, to elect the Mayor and 6 Councilors for the Town of Souris for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.
The nomination period for the mayor and council positions noted above opens on October 7, 2026, and closes at 2:00 pm on Nomination Day, October 16, 2026.
Nominations can be received at the election office at 75 Main Street, Souris Town Hall,by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times:
- Monday – Friday by MEO between 9am and 4pm
- Friday, October 16, 2026, between 9am to 2pm
Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.
There is a $100 Nomination Fee payable to the Town of Souris upon submission. (refundable as per conditions)
The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on October 20, 2026.
