    Mayor Joanne Dunphy has called a Special Meeting of Town Council to discuss and decide upon some financial considerations. Monday, September 22, 2025 at 6:30pm. 3rd Floor Town Hall Council Chambers.

    These include: Review and allocate or re-allocate Reserve Funds as discussed at our August meeting with MRSB, as well as consideration for potential funding opportunities available to municipalities, including the Strategic Component of CCBF.

  • Rezoning Application Public Meeting
    6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

    The Public is invited to participate in a Public Meeting set for Tuesday, October 14, 2025, beginning at 6:00pm.  This meeting will be held at Town Hall Council Chambers.  75 Main Street, 3rd Floor, Souris, PEI.

    The Town of Souris has received an application from Justin Cheverie to Rezone PID 102814 & 101741 located on Prince Ave., Souris, PEI (shown on the map provided) from its current zoning of M1 – Industrial, to R3 – Mixed-Density Residential for proposed multi-unit housing development.  This information is available on our website www.sourispei.com or in person at Souris Town Hall, 75 Main Street.

    This proposed rezoning would require an amendment of the Town of Souris Zoning Map, Official Plan and Future Land Use Zoning Map.  Therefore, as per Section #18.4 of our Land Use Bylaw, the Town is required to notify property owners that live within a five-hundred-foot (500’) radius of the property in addition to an advertisement for a public hearing at least 7 clear days prior to the date fixed for the public meeting.  A sign will also be posted on the property.  

    An advertisement will be included in the Eastern Graphic Newspaper, October 1, 2025.

    This meeting will give Town Council an opportunity to hear and consider any concerns from the public prior to making their decision.  The applicant will also be invited to the meeting to answer questions.

    You can either attend in person – or you can submit your concerns or questions in writing.   • OCTOBER TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

    Souris Town Council has a regular scheduled meeting the 2nd Monday of every month.
    Our Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers at Souris Town Hall, 75 Main Street, Souris at 7:00pm. (Unless otherwise posted due to holiday or other reason)


    All of our meetings are open to the public. Our Council Chambers are accessible by elevator and the closest parking to the ramp and elevator door is at the rear of the Town Hall.

    If you would like something added to the agenda a written request explaining your request must be submitted to the Chief Administrative Officer at least 7 days prior to the meeting date.

    Closed meetings can be held, but only for purposes set out in section 119 of the Municipal Government Act.
