• Town of Souris – Public Meeting Notice

    Subject: Amendments to Land Use Bylaw concerning PID 102137 located behind Hope St and MacPhee Ave.

    An application has been made to the Town to change the zoning of PID 102137 from Low Density Residential (R1) to Medium Density Residential (R2). The rezoning application has been made for the purpose of enabling up to a 90-lot residential subdivision.

    A meeting will be held May 21, 2026 at 6:30pm at the Silver Threads Club, 78 Main Street, Souris, to receive comments from the public on the proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw – Zoning Map.

    Comments may be submitted in writing by mail or email on or before May 22, 2026 at 4:00pm.  All written comments must be signed or display the author’s name and civic address.  Once received, comments are considered public documents and may be included in the records for this application. You may also participate in person and present your comments to the Council at the noted date and time.

    The Town of Souris Town Council meets the second Monday of each month. June’s meeting will be held June 8, 2026 at 7:00pm. COPY OF AGENDA (available 48 hrs prior to the meeting)

    Town Council meetings are held at Souris Town Hall, 75 Main Street, Souris, PEI (3rd Floor Council Chambers) Accessible door entrance and parking is at the rear of the building and an elevator is available to the 3rd Floor.

    Town Council meetings are always open to the public with the exception of reasons listed in the Municipal Government Act Section 119(1).

    If you have something you would like considered by Council, or to make a presentation to Council, you must submit a request in writing to the Chief Admin Officer at least 7 days prior to the scheduled meeting.
