Town of Souris Procedural Bylaw No. 2026-03

This Town of Souris Procedural Bylaw No. 2026-03 is being considered to replace Town of Souris Procedural Bylaw No 2024-06.

One of the key differences will be a change in the make up the composition of Council from Council Committees to a Committee of Council. Over the past several months Council has considered the pros and cons and feels this change will benefit all. A copy is attached for public review.

Another notable change is, if adopted, Council will meet twice per month rather than the once per month they currently meet. They will meet regularly on the second Monday of the month and fourth Monday of the month as outlined in Section 30 of the Bylaw attached.

In short – the fourth Monday of the month will be for discussion and consideration and the second Monday of the “following” month will be for making decisions, motions, resolutions, etc.

Prior to adopting this bylaw two readings by Council are required. Potentially, it could receive first reading November 9, 2026.
