The Mermaid Tears Sea Glass Festival is the largest sea glass festival and was the first ever in Canada. It celebrates Sea Glass AKA Mermaid Tears. Starting Saturday and continuing on Sunday you can visit the vendor fair of sea glass artisans and crafts, stop and play Seaglass bingo, listen to live entertainment, tour the Souris Lighthouse, and on Sunday enter into the Shard contest to win money, as well as many other activities for the whole family! From the festival grounds you can walk to the heart of this historical town, visit the Matthew McLean Historium, tour the many shops, enjoy some local cuisine and watch the ferry arrive or depart that connects PEI to the Iles de la Madeleine.
