The Public is invited to participate in a Public Meeting set for TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2023 beginning at 6:00pm. Meeting will be held at Town Hall Council Chambers. 75 Main Street, 3rd Floor, Souris, PEI.
The Town of Souris has received an application from Russell Ching Ltd. to subdivide and rezone/amend a small portion of property PID#819284 on LaVie Avenue, Souris, PEI. It is currently used as agricultural land. The portion to be subdivided is shown in the map provided. Approximately, 370’ x 100’. Russell Ching Ltd. intends to establish two (2) mini homes on the applicable portion of the said property. Therefore, they are requesting the zoning of the subdivided portion be changed to Two Family Residential (R2). A clearer picture of the area to be rezoned is available on our website www.sourispei.com or can be viewed in person at Town Hall.
This proposed rezoning will require an amendment of the Town of Souris Zoning and Subdivision Control Bylaw Official Plan and Zoning Map.
As per Section #21 Amendments of Town of Souris Zoning and Subdivision Control Bylaw #2010-02 we are required to notify property owners that live within a five-hundred-foot (500’) radius of the subject property in addition to an advertisement for a public hearing at least 7 clear days prior to the date fixed for the public meeting. This will give the Council an opportunity to hear and consider any concerns from the public prior to making their decision. The applicant will also be invited to the meeting to answer questions.
